Areola and nipple tattooing is a specialised treatment designed to restore or enhance the natural appearance of the breast area. This can include adding or deepening pigmentation to the areola, improving symmetry and blending uneven tone (Nip Blush).
It is also used to soften the appearance of scarring and recreate the look of a natural nipple and areola following procedures such as breast lifts, mastectomy or lumpectomy (Areola Tattooing). The technique is carefully tailored to each individual to achieve a realistic, natural-looking result.
All areola and nipple tattooing appointments are held at our Salford studio. Please contact us directly to arrange your consultation.
Patch tests are optional for this treatment. If you would like one arranged prior to your appointment, please contact Penny directly to organise this.
Downtime is around 5–7 days. You must keep the area clean and dry during this time to allow the pigment to settle and the skin to heal for the most effective results.
For 2–4 weeks after treatment you may experience flaking, shedding, tenderness, dryness, itching, swelling, redness and tightness. This is completely normal. Wear loose, soft clothing over the area and avoid baths, swimming and saunas for at least 2 weeks.
Results differ from person to person, so it is not possible to give a precise timeline. The final outcome will develop as the area heals over several weeks. A top-up session may be recommended to perfect the colour and overall result — this is included in your treatment price if needed.
Scarring must be fully healed and mature — typically at least 12 months post-surgery — before treatment can begin.

Nip Blush adds or deepens pigmentation to an existing areola — improving colour, symmetry or evenness. Areola Tattooing recreates the full appearance of a nipple and areola where it has been removed or significantly altered through surgery.
Scarring must be fully mature — typically at least 12 months post-surgery — before treatment can begin. If you have had recent surgery, please get in touch and we can advise on timing.

It is completely normal to have reduced or altered sensation after breast surgery. Topical numbing cream is used throughout and the level of discomfort varies between individuals. Please let Penny know about any numbness at your consultation.
